It does not have a "Quilty" top cover, in fact the springs can be felt throughout the whole mattress. The springs are noisy and clunky, if you sit on the edge of the mattress, you are basically sitting on the floor. The pictures used are not an accurate depiction of the mattress Very, very uncomfortable and would not recommend even as a guest bed. It feels like Grandparents post-war 1960's spring mattress that they never replaced.
