Important: Despite the fact that 304-grade stainless steel is safe to use with foods, storing foods or liquids for long periods of time in 304-grade stainless steel containers is not recommended. Although 304-grade stainless steel is rust-resistant, the oxygen forming a protective surface with chromium can become depleted during long-term storage which can cause corrosion to occur.
